Iraq Minister of Foreign Affairs: Iraq is looking forward to hold the Cooperation Council Meeting with the EU on the Ministerial level

    The Iraqi Minister of Foreign Affairs Mr. Fuad Hussain met on Thursday 20/1/2022 on the sidelines of his visit to Brussels the higher representative of the Foreign Affairs and Security Policy of the EU Mr. Joseb Borel . They discussed the bilateral relations between the Republic of Iraq and the EU and the current issues on the Iraqi, Regional and International arena.

    His Excellency extended his thanks to the EU for its support of the Iraqi political stability and economic growth via the EU partnership in the International Alliance to fight ISIS.

   His Excellency touched upon the latest developments regarding the political issues in Iraq and the efforts of the Iraqi political blocs to form a new government, thanking the European Commission for responding to the Iraqi government call to dispatch a mission in order  to monitor  the last Iraqi Parliamentary Election, and to support Iraq to confront the spread of Covid Pandemic, Confirming  the importance of cooperation between Iraq and the EU and the steps taken to implement the cooperation and partnership between the two sides by holding the sub-committees meetings in addition to holding of cooperation committee meeting on the Level of Undersecretaries, and that Iraq is looking forward to hold the Cooperation Council Meeting on the Ministerial level soon.
