Head of the Department of International Organisations and Conferences Meets the Deputy Special Representative for Political Affairs and Electoral Assistance of the United Nations Assistance Mission for Iraq (UNAMI)

On 04/01/2022, Dr Abbas Kadhem Obaid, Acting Head of the Department of International Organizations and Conferences, met Ms Ingibjörg Sólrún Gísladóttir, Deputy Special Representative for Political Affairs and Electoral Assistance of the United Nations Assistance Mission for Iraq (UNAMI), at the Ministry’s headquarters, in order to follow up the tasks and roles being implemented by (UNAMI) according to the mandate entrusted to it.

During the meeting, they discussed topics and files pursued by the mission in Iraq and reports issued on cooperation and technical assistance. the Head of the Department of International the Organisations and Conferences affirmed that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs is working to provide all the facilities required by the United Nations mission and its offices in Iraq to overcome the obstacles they face in performing their tasks, and the importance of Information sharing between the mission and the Iraqi government.
