Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs Fuad Hussein stressed the need to activate the Iraqi-British relations at various levels, including (economic and financial), calling on British investment companies to invest in Iraq, praising the financial stability that our country is going through at the present time, and discussing the status of investment companies in Basra. .

This came during his meeting with his British counterpart, Mr. James Cleverly, on the sidelines of the 18th Manama Dialogue, which is taking place in the Bahraini capital, Manama.

During the meeting, they also discussed ways to improve bilateral relations between the two countries, and the importance of consultation on issues of common concern.

They discussed Iraq’s pioneering role in the region and its efforts to combat terrorism, and the two sides stressed the importance of continuing efforts to combat terrorist organizations. Because it poses a threat to security and stability in Iraq and the region.

For his part, the British Foreign Minister affirmed the British government’s commitment to continue supporting the Iraqi government in the economic, security, combating terrorism, and in the areas of renewable energy, investment and combating the effects of climate change, expressing his government’s desire to raise the pace of bilateral relations between the two countries and develop them in a way that serves common interests.
