Ambassador Ahmed Tahsin Berwari presents his credentials as Head of Iraq Mission to NATO

Ambassador Ahmad Tahsin Berwari presented his credentials as Head of Mission of the Republic of Iraq to the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) to the Secretary General of the Alliance, Mr. Jens Stoltenberg, on 11/8/2022, at NATO Headquarters in Brussels.
At the outset of the meeting, Ambassador Berwari conveyed the greetings of the President of the Republic of Iraq and the Iraqi government, pointing to the importance of bilateral cooperation between Iraq and the Alliance through the NATO Training Mission (NMI), stressing the importance of continuing consultation with the concerned Iraqi authorities to provide support programs for the Iraqi security forces through Consultation, training and capacity building are among the priorities set by the Government of Iraq.

For his part, NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg welcomed Ambassador Berwari, wishing him success in his work duties, praising the efforts to form the new government, wishing it success in its next phase.
The Secretary-General stressed the alliance’s keenness to continue cooperation and consultation with the Iraqi government and coordination with it to support Iraq through the programs and activities provided by the NATO training mission in Iraq.

At the conclusion of the meeting, the two sides stressed the importance of continuous coordination in order to crystallize visions to enhance cooperation and joint action.
