The conference commenced its work with the opening session, where the Undersecretary of the Ministry, Omar Al-Barzanchi, delivered a speech in which he referred to the importance of holding this conference, which comes as a practical translation to promote the values of tolerance, love and peace among the various peoples of the world, which in turn represent the most prominent bonds and commonalities on which the three monotheistic religions meet. The conference, which is one of the outcomes of the Pope’s visit to Iraq in 2021, represents a clear message that, despite the difficulties it had undergone, Iraq is able to build bridges of cooperation and joint action through the effective dialogue between different faiths.
