The Iraqi Ministry of Foreign Affairs is following up the reactions to the OPEC + decision on the reduction of oil production, and the reflected interactions of the decision.

The ministry affirms that the process that has been relied upon within the organisation, expresses a technical vision related to the stability of the oil markets and its requirements, managing the supply and demand process, protecting the interests of producers and consumers, and it need to be coordinated on technical grounds within its economical context and with a collective agreement between OPEC Plus countries.

The Ministry rejects any policy aiming at applying pressure, and supports the position of the organisation, particularly the sisterly Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

In this regard, the Ministry calls for the necessity of addressing every dispute concerning this issue through normal means and in the context of direct and balanced dialogue, in a manner that reflects the importance of international partnership in efforts to establish security and stability in the region and the world.
