Iraq receives 125 on loan Artefacts from Germany

  Embassy of the Republic of Iraq in Berlin has received 125 archeological artefacts from Ms Susan Pollock from the The Freie Universitat Berlin, Institute of Ancient Eastern Archeology on loan for study purposes since the nineties from Abu Salabeekh Archeological Site, and which dates back to the Uruk era. (4th millennium BC).

 During the handover at the embassy headquarters, Ms Pollock said that ‘the German side is very interested in the Iraqi civilization of Mesopotamia’, which represents a top interest for German archeologists.

 From his part, Ambassador Lukman Abdulraheem Al-Faili appreciated the efforts of the institute, and extended his thanks to Ms Pollock’s efforts to accomplish this process, wishing to continue the cooperation with the German side in the cultural and excavation fields.
