Ambassador of the Republic of Iraq in Amman Meets the Jordanian-Iraqi Brothers Committee in the Jordanian Senate

Ambassador of the Republic of Iraq in Amman, Haider Al-Athari, has met the head and members of the Jordanian-Iraqi Brothers Committee in the Jordanian Senate, to discuss the bilateral relations between the two brotherly countries.

During the meeting, which was held at the Senate, Al-Athari commended the high level of relations between the two countries, referring to the coordination and political partnership have been at the highest level recently, and the ambition is that the relations and economic cooperation to live up to this level as well, to serve the interests of both sides.

He added that the Iraqi government is keen to build the best relations with the neighboring countries to realise security, stability and prosperity in the region in general, and that Iraqi-Jordanian relations extend for about 100 years, which provides a solid ground for further partnerships in all fields.

On his part, the Chairman of the Jordanian-Iraqi Brothers Committee, His Excellency Nayef Al-Qadi, welcomed the ambassador, affirming the positions of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan supporting of the security and stability of Iraq, noting that the strength of Iraq is a source of strength for Jordan and all Arab countries, calling for enhancing the economic partnership between the two brotherly countries and to move forward in implementing the strategic projects, particularly the Basra-Aqaba oil pipeline and the connection of electricity and other projects.

The members of the committee, Mr Muhammad Odeh Najadat and Mr Muhammad Al-Shawabkeh, and from the embassy, the second deputy of the ambassador, Counselor Jamil Kamel, and the director of the ambassador’s office, third secretary Saleh Elias have attended the meeting.
