Chargé d’Affaires ad Interim in Ankara Calls for Implementing the Iraqi-Turkish Parliamentary Friendship Committee and Exchanging visits at the Parliamentary Level between the Two Countries

During a meeting which has been held at the Turkish Parliament building with Chairman of the Iraqi-Turkish Parliamentary Friendship Committee, Mr Hussein Shanverdi, Minister Plenipotentiary, Nazdar Ihsan Sherzad, Chargé d’Affaires ad interim of the Republic of Iraq to the Turkish Republic, has called for implementing the Iraqi-Turkish Parliamentary Friendship Committee, and to work on everything that brings peoples and officials of the two countries together, and to exchange visits at the parliamentary level between Baghdad and Ankara to enhance the common interests.

The Chargé d’Affaires affirmed that Iraq is open to all countries of the world, especially the neighbouring countries, expressing Iraq’s adherence to good-neighbourly relations, and carry them forward into joint working relations, and increasing the volume of trade exchange between the two countries.

On his part, Chairman of the Committee, Mr Hussein Shanverdi, referred to the importance of exchanging visits between officials of the two countries and exchanging expertise and experiences in all fields, stressing the need for concerted political efforts between Baghdad and Ankara to contribute to the stability in the region.
