Ambassador of the Republic of Iraq to the Republic of Slovenia Discusses Enhancing parliamentary cooperation with the Chairperson of Foreign Policy Committee for Parliament of Slovenia

The non-resident Ambassador of the Republic of Iraq to the Republic of Slovenia, Baker Fattah Hussein, has met the Chairperson of the Foreign Policy Committee of the National Assembly of the Slovenian Parliament, Mrs Monika Gregorčič, at the Slovenian Parliament’s headquarters.

During the meeting, they discussed the bilateral relations in various fields, particularly enhancing parliamentary cooperation between the two countries by calling for the exchange of bilateral visits and the formation of the joint parliamentary friendship committee, especially after the election of the new Iraqi parliament members and the beginning of a new phase to revitalize legislative work in the country.

The Ambassador called for the benefiting from the experiences of the Slovenian side in the field of women’s empowerment by opening the horizons of cooperation with the Slovenian Women Parliamentarians Club, which is concerned with developing women’s leaders in the political sphere.

  On her part, Mrs Monika Gregorčič welcomed this visit, affirming the importance of cooperation between the two countries and the follow-up to implement the joint work in the near future, as the Slovenian parliamentary elections are to be conducted during the next three months.
