Chargé d’Affaires of the Republic of Iraq to the Kingdom of Bahrain calls for the Opening of Flight Route between Baghdad and Manama to Achieve the Bilateral Cooperation

The Chargé d’Affaires of the Republic of Iraq to the Kingdom of Bahrain, Muayyad Omar Abdul Rahman, has met the Gulf Air CEO Captain Waleed Abdul Hameed Al-Alawi. During the meeting, they reviewed the historic bilateral relations between Baghdad and Manama, and the development and progress on all levels in the interest of the two countries and their brotherly peoples. The Chargé d’Affaires called for the opening of the flight route between the Republic of Iraq and the sisterly Kingdom of Bahrain in the field of passenger transport, air freight, and the exchange of goods, which had been closed due to the ban and lock down procedures in confronting the Covid 19 at the beginning of 2020, as it has significant impact to enhance the bilateral relations and their living up to meet the aspirations of the two brotherly peoples.

On his part, Captain Waleed Abdul Hameed Al-Alawi welcomed this visit and the proposal it included to reactivate the flight route between the two countries, stressing that he will approach the competent authorities in this regard, given the importance in the economic terms for both countries, wishing the Chargé d’Affaires success in his tasks in the interest of bilateral relations.

This meeting out of the keenness to continue communication between the diplomatic mission of the Republic of Iraq to the sisterly Kingdom of Bahrain, and the official Bahraini authorities and to open up wider horizons for joint cooperation at all levels.
