Head of the Department of International Organisations and Conferences Meets the Deputy Special Representative of the Secretary-General of the United Nations, Humanitarian Coordinator to Iraq

The Acting Head of the Department of International Organisations and Conferences, Dr Abbas Kadhem Obaid, has met Irina Voyashkova Solliorano, Deputy Special Representative of the Secretary-General of the United Nations, the Coordinator of Humanitarian Affairs to Iraq, at the Ministry’s headquarters.
During the meeting, they discussed topics and files pursued by the offices of specialized international organisations and agencies in Iraq, and the roles they play. The Head of the Department affirmed that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs provides all the facilities needed by the United Nations mission and its offices in Iraq to overcome the obstacles they face in performing their tasks, for the progression of their work plan in Iraq.
On her part, Mrs Soliorano thanked the Iraqi government and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for their interest and support in facilitating the work of the UN mission and its various offices and programms in Iraq. The two sides agreed on the need to communicate and provide updates in this regard in a continuous manner.
