Minister of Foreign Affairs Receives British Ambassador Who Confirms His Government’s Condemnation of the Attack that Targeted the Residence of the Prime Minister
on Wednesday, 10/11/2021, the Foreign Minister Mr Fuad Hussein received, at the Ministry Headquarters, the British Ambassador to Iraq Mark Bryson Richardson.
The two sides discussed ways to enhance the bilateral relations between the two countries, and the political developments at the regional and international levels. The two sides reviewed the developments in Iraq and the region, and the importance of the cooperation and coordination between the two countries, in a manner that serves local and regional peace and stability.
The Minister affirmed that Iraq is moving towards balanced relations based on joint action with friends in the international community to consolidate security and stability in the region and ease its tensions, and support the cooperation in the fields of economy, health, environment, combating corruption and standing shoulder to shoulder in responding to the threat of terrorism and extremism.
On his part, the British Ambassador affirmed his country’s interest in enhancing the bilateral cooperation between Baghdad and London, and that his country strongly condemns the attack that targeted the residence of Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kadhimi and support the Iraqi government in achieving security and stability.
