Ambassador of the Republic of Iraq in Berlin Meets the German Undersecretary for Political Affairs

Ambassador of the Republic of Iraq in Berlin Luqman Abdul Rahim Al-Faili has met the German Under Secretary of Foreign Affairs Political Affairs, Mr. Miguel Berger, at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs headquarters.

During the meeting, they have reviewed ways to enhance the bilateral relations and the most important mutual files, including the topic of immigration and refugees and German support to Iraq, in addition to discussing the geopolitical changes in the Middle East and the role played by Iraq in it.

The two sides have discussed the results of the recent parliamentary election in Iraq and Germany, as Mr Berger expressed his government’s welcome to the organization and transparency of the Iraqi election, describing it as “the best since 2003.”

Ambassador Luqman Al-Faili also confirmed during the meeting the importance for Germany to adopt an approach and an action plan that are suited to Iraq’s political and economic conditions and its social fabric, to ensure the success of the German experience in Iraq.
