Deputy Head of Europe Department receives non-resident Ambassador of Republic of Slovenia to Iraq, Accredited to Ankara

The Deputy Head of the Europe Department, Plenipotentiary Minister Mr. Tariq Al-Shaher, received on Monday, 27/9/2021, the non-resident ambassador of the Republic of Slovenia to Iraq, accredited to Ankara, Mr. Primoz Celko.

During the meeting, they discussed ways to develop bilateral relations in various fields, as well as the subject of memoranda of understanding and draft agreements between the two countries.

On the other hand, and on the of Slovenia’s assumption of the rotating presidency of the Council of the European Union, they discussed recent migrant crisis.

They also affirmed Iraq’s firm position, consistent with international law and human rights principles. Mr. Shaher stressed that the solution to this crisis would be achieved through cooperation and respect for the laws and sovereignty of both sides.
