Foreign Minister Receives US Special Envoy to Iran
On the sidelines of the 76th session of the United Nations General Assembly, Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein received, at his residence in New York, the US Special Envoy to Iran, Mr. Robert Malley,
During the meeting, the two sides discussed political and security developments in the region, US-Iranian relations, and future meetings.
The Minister stressed the activities carried out by Iraq and its role in easig tensions between the countries of the region in order to maintain regional and international peace and security, expressing his hope for returning talks in Vienna to implement the agreements and the joint action plan, due to their positive repercussions on regional and international relations.
For his part, Mr. Malley praised Iraq’s important role in the region and its efforts to build bridges between countries to resolve disputes through dialogue and peaceful means.
