Chaired by Iraq, Near East and North Africa Group of FAO holds virtual meeting of member states, and hosts Chairman of Committee on World Food Security and Assistant Regional Director-General of FAO
The Head of the Near East Regional Group at the Food and Agriculture Organization of FAO, Ambassador Safia Talib Al-Suhail, held on 21/9/2021, a virtual meeting with the member states of the group.
During the meeting, they discussed the meetings and preparatory meetings for the 36th Regional Conference for the Near East and North Africa within the FAO, which will be held in Baghdad in February 2022.
The meeting hosted the Assistant Director-General for the Near East and North Africa Region, Dr. Abdul Hakim Al-Waer and his team from Cairo.
The meeting also discussed the nominations of countries for the presidency of the Committee on World Food Security, in the presence of the current Chairman of the Committee, the Permanent Representative, the former Minister of Agriculture of the Kingdom of Thailand, Mr. Tanawat Tensen, and the new candidates for the position of the Chairman of the Commission, including the candidate of Spain Mr. Cabriel Ferrero, the candidate of Cameron; Mr. Madi Monkwe, who gave an overview of their biography CV and a detailed explanation of their future vision for working in the committee.
