Foreign Minister: Ministerial Committee of Baghdad Conference for Cooperation and Partnership will hold meeting in New York on sidelines of 76th session of United Nations General Assembly
Foreign Minister Mr. Fuad Hussein participated on Monday 20/9/2021 in the annual consultative meeting of the Council of the League of Arab States at the ministerial level, which was held at the headquarters of the permanent mission of the State of Kuwait to the United Nations.
This was on the sidelines of the 76th session of the United Nations General Assembly, headed by the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs of the State of Kuwait, President of the 156th session of the Arab League; Sheikh Dr. Ahmed Nasser Al-Mohammed Al-Sabah, with participation of Secretary-General of the League of Arab States, Dr. Ahmed Aboul Gheit.
During the meeting, they discussed a number of topics on the agenda of the United Nations General Assembly at its 76th session, the importance of promoting joint Arab Action, unifying positions on the Palestinian issue and the challenges facing countries in the region.
Mr. Hussein mentioned the preparation for the early elections and the arrival of international observers, as the United Nations Security Council decided to support Iraq in the electoral process, and accordingly the observers were sent, and he called on the Arab League to send observers like the International Organization and the European Union.
On the other hand, the Minister mentioned the Baghdad Conference for Cooperation and Partnership and its outcomes, and announced that the Ministerial Committee of the Conference would hold a meeting in New York on the sidelines of the 76th session of the United Nations General Assembly, and stressed that the Baghdad Conference would turn into a permanent platform to sustain dialogue between the concerned countries and to create a state of cooperation and stability in the regions building economic partnership, and protecting Iraq from external threats.
