Minister of Foreign Affairs receives copy of credentials of new Ambassador of Finland to Iraq
Foreign Minister Mr. Fuad Hussein received on Sunday 5/9/2021 a copy of the credentials of the new Finnish Ambassador to Iraq, Mr. Matti Lassila. During the meeting, they discussed the file of bilateral relations between Baghdad and Helsinki, ways to strengthen them and activating the work of the joint committee between the two countries.
Mr. Hissein stressed that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs is ready to provide all support for the success of the ambassador’s mission in Iraq, calling for the need for concerted efforts, and to enhance prospects for cooperation in all fields, noting that the investment areas in Iraq are open to Finnish companies to work and support the economic sector.
For his part, Mr. Matti Lassila, affirmed his country’s determination to deepen relations and support to Iraq in the reconstruction of the liberated areas, noting that he will make all his efforts to activate the joint committees and encourage Finnish companies to work and invest in Iraq.
At the end of the meeting, Mr. Lassila presented an official invitation to the Minister of Foreign Affairs to visit Helsinki within the framework of strengthening bilateral relations between the two friendly countries.
