Minister of Foreign Affairs Receives a Copy of Credentials of New Spanish Ambassador in Baghdad
On Tuesday, August 17, 2021, Foreign Minister FuadHussein received a copy of credentials of Mr. Pedro Martineth, the new Spanish ambassador to Baghdad.
During the meeting , the two sides discussed bilateral relations and ways of developing them to serve interests of the two friendly countries.
The Minister wished Mr. Martineth success in his diplomatic missions in Baghdad, expressing readiness of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to provide all support to the Spanish Embassy to deepen relations, stressing that Baghdad is looking forward to a bigger role for Madrid in various fields, and calling on Spanish companies to invest in Baghdad due to the acceptability it enjoys with the Iraqi citizen.
On his part, Mr. Martineth declared his country’s readiness to support Iraq politically and security-wise, and to provide more assistance, stressing his country’s supportive stance for Iraq in the international forums, especially in fighting ISIS terrorist gangs.
