Foreign Minister Receives Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman in Baghdad

June 9, 2021, Foreign Minister, H.E. Mr. Fuad Hussein received the Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Mr. Saeed Khatibzadeh, who is on an official visit to Baghdad upon the invitation of his Iraqi counterpart, Dr. Ahmed Al-Sahhaf.

During the meeting, they discussed close historical relations and joint cooperation, stressing his keenness to strengthen and consolidate cooperation with Tehran in various fields, in a manner that is of benefit to the interests of the two peoples.
For his part, Mr. Khatibzadeh commended the course of bilateral relations between the two countries, expressing his country’s aspiration to develop joint cooperation at various levels, especially at the present time when the region is witnessing successive challenges that require concerted efforts to prevent foreign interference, and intensify coordination to benefit from Iraq’s historic background in the region.
