Undersecretary for Political Planning Affairs Meets Executive Director of the Mohammed bin Mubarak Al Khalifa Academy for Diplomatic Studies in the Kingdom of Bahrain
On 26 April 2021, the Ministry’s Undersecretary for Political Planning Affairs, Acting Dean of the Foreign Service Institute H.E. Dr. Saleh Al-Tamimi, held a virtual meeting with Sheikha Dr. Munira bint Khalifa Al Khalifa, Executive Director of the Mohammed bin Mubarak Al Khalifa Academy for Diplomatic Studies in the Kingdom of Bahrain.
Mr. Al-Tamimi thanked Sheikha Al Khalifa as well as the Iraqi Chargé d’Affairs in Manama, and the technical team in the Ministry for their efforts to hold this meeting.
H.E. referred to the historical ties of the two brotherly countries and their cultural and historical heritage, expressing the importance of enhancing joint cooperation in the fields of diplomatic training and exchange of experience between academics in the universities of the two countries, which contributes to strengthening bilateral relations.
For her part,Sheikha Al Khalifa thanked Mr. Al-Tamimi for holding this meeting, expressing the keenness for joint cooperation between the Foreign Service Institute and the Bahrain Diplomatic Academy due to its importance in strengthening bilateral relations because of Iraq’s historical and diplomatic legacy, highlighting that
in view of the restrictions imposed by the emerging corona virus pandemic, the two sides have agreed to hold lectures and seminars on a reciprocal virtual basis, and then hold in-person training courses and exchange visits after the end of the pandemic.
The meeting was attended by Mrs. Iman Muhammad Jaber, Deputy Dean of the Foreign Service Institute, Dr. Muhammad Adnan Mahmoud, Chargé d’Affairs to the Iraqi Embassy in Manama, and Second Secretary Faisal Al-Farhoud, head of the Training Section.
