Permanent Representative of Iraq, Chair of the Near East Group, Participates in 166th Opening Session of FAO Council
The Iraqi Permanent Representative, Chair of the Near East Group, H.E. Mrs Safia Al-Suhail, participated in a virtual opening of the 166th session of the Council of the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), held for the period 26- 30 April 2021, to discuss regional and global developments and the main recent challenges within the scope of FAO’s work.
Mrs. Al-Suhail delivered a speech on behalf of the Near East Regional Group in which she touched on the strategic framework document 2022-2031, which defined the vision and aspirations of the organization for the next decade, and the importance of giving priority to countries facing political, economic, social and environmental challenges, as well as conflicts and crises, and empowering youth and integrating them into the organization’s programs to stimulate building capabilities in their own countries.
