The Ambassador of the Republic of Iraq to the Czech Republic, Mrs. Sundus Omar Ali, met with the Mayor of Prague, Mr. Andrei Kolar, and discussed the importance of urban planning and the pressure facing capitals as a result of migration from the countryside to cities, as well as the importance of preserving open green and recreational areas, in the face of urban pressure to construct residential areas. The Iraqi world-class architect Mrs. Zaha Hadid was praised, during the discussion, for her reconstruction design of the project area around Prague’s main train station.
Mrs. Ali, in her capacity as Chair of the Group of Member States of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation in Prague (OICPG), presented (5000) medical masks as a solitary gesture of the group with the Czech society in their fight against Covid 19.
The Mayor of Prague expressed his appreciation to the Ambassador for her contributing to the support of the Czech society, which will have a positive response, as there are many poor families and the elderly people in need of support in such difficult economic conditions, which require preventive measures against COVID-19.
