Undersecretary for Political Planning Affairs Visits Pakistani Foreign Service Academy (FSA)
On 9 April 2021, the Undersecretary for Political Planning Affairs, acting dean of the Foreign Service Institute, H.E. Dr. Salih Al-Tamimi accompanied by Iraqi Ambassador to Islamabad H.E. Mr. Hamid Abbas and a number of embassy’s staff visited the Foreign Service Institute (FSA) in Pakistan.
Mr. Al-Tamimi was received by the Director General of the Pakistan FSA, Mr. Muhammad Imran Mirza and high ranking staff of the academy.
During his visit, Mr. Al-Tamimi discussed ways of joint cooperation in training diplomatic staff members on issues related to diplomacy, crisis management, strategic planning, cybersecurity, art of negotiation, and other topics. They also discussed next steps to activate the Memorandum of Understanding signed with the Academy, as well as areas of cooperation in the framework of exchanging expertise between the two sides, and discussed the possibility of holding training courses virtually at the present time, given the health conditions that the world is going through due to the emerging Corona virus.
Mr. Al-Tamimi and the accompanying delegation toured the academy’s facilities.
At the end of the meeting, Mr. Al-Tamimi thanked Mr. Mirza for his warm hospitality and his interest to open areas of joint cooperation.
