Head of The Human Rights Department Meets the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Denmark and The Deputy Head of the European Union Mission in Iraq

on 16 March 2021, the Head of the Human Rights Department, Dr. Ali Hilal met with the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Denmark to Iraq H.E. Mr. Stig Paolo Pera, the Deputy Head of the European Union Mission, Mr. Jean Bernard Bolvin, and Mr. Federico Novellino, Deputy Head of the Italian Mission in Iraq to ​​discuss a number of issues related to the work of the Committee on the Status of Woman (CSW) that held its (65th) session for the period (15-23 March 2021).

Mr. Hilal thanked the guests for the briefing they gave about their priorities within the CSW, stressing that Iraq always seeks to enhance the role of women and support their participation in political life as it is a basic pillar of society as well as providing them with the necessary protection for the purpose of exercising these rights.

At the end of the meeting, all parties emphasized the importance of continuing coordination amongst each other.
