Foreign Minister Meets with Secretary General of League of Arab States

Foreign Minister Mr. Fuad Hussein met with Mr. Ahmed Aboul Gheit, Secretary-General of the League of Arab States. The two sides consulted about the necessary preparations for the convening of the emergency meeting of the Council of the Arab League at the ministerial level which was called by the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan and the Arab Republic of Egypt, and discussed the topics that will be presented on the discussion table in the meeting, in addition to discussing the latest developments in the region, and how to deal with the new administration policy in Washington .

The Minister expressed Iraq’s keenness to maintain constant communication with Arab countries and support the efforts of the Arab League and its Secretary General to unify Arab position.

The Secretary General Mr. Aboul Gheit briefed the Minister on the ongoing progress in building the new administrative annex of the Arab League appreciating at the same time Iraq’s support for the League.
