Foreign Ministry Sponsors Funeral Held for Yazidi Victims of Da’esh

A funeral was held at the Martyr’s Monument in the presence of Foreign Minister Mr. Fuad Hussein and attended by the President of the Republic Mr. Barham Salih, Prime Minister Mr. Mustafa Al-Kadhimi Deputy Speaker of Council of Representatives Mr. Hassan Al-Kaabi, senior officials and heads of diplomatic missions in Iraq, as well as several families of the victims.

The Da’esh terrorist organization had shot dead numbers of Iraqi citizens in separate areas of the Sinjar region in 2014.

The remains were found in mass graves, and their identities were identified, after the remains were transferred to the forensic medicine department in Baghdad for DNA tests.
