Foreign Minister Participates in the 26th UN conference (COP26) in Glasgow / Scotland

H.E. Dr Fuad Hussein the Minister of Foreign Affairs has participated in the 26th UN conference of the parties in the United Nations frame convention of Climate Change (COP26), in Glasgow / Scotland with participation of 200 countries participation to discuss the means of alleviating the emissions until 2030 and assistance provided to improve life standards. The Iraqi delegation is scheduled to participate in a number of technical committees concerning the joint work to confront the climate changes that countries of the region is experiencing due to the threats as a result of worldwide global warming.

On the sidelines of the conference, H.E. Dr Fuad Hussein discussed with the French President H.E. Mr. Emanuel Macron the regional and international developments and means of developing the bilateral relations and its enhancing the joint cooperation in order to serve the benefit of the two peoples.

H.E. Foreign Minister touched upon the electoral process that conducted in Iraq and its process and results. On other hand, the effort of rebuilding the city of Mosul has also been mentioned.

In another meeting of H.E. the Foreign Minister Dr Fuad Hussein discussed with the British State Minister of Middle East and North Africa Mr James Cleverly the means of developing bilateral relations between the two countries and the importance of the issues of mutual concern. They also discussed the political developments in Iraq and the parliamentary election conducted on 10/10/2021, they also discussed a number of regional and international issues of joint concern.

On his part, Mr Cleverly affirmed the support of the United Kingdom to Iraq politically and economically and his intention to develop the relations with Iraq in all levels.
