The Ambassador of the Republic of Iraq to Ottawa (Dr Wadeeh Bate) has presented his credentials as a permanent representative of the republic of Iraq to the head of executive council (Mr. Salvatore Sciacchitano) at the ICAO in Montreal on 1/11/2021. The permanent representative conveyed the greetings of the Minister of Foreign Affairs (Dr Fouad Hussein) to the Mr Sciacchitano and leadership of the Organisation. The permanent representative clarified that Iraq had paid significant attention to the work of the aforementioned Organisation in Iraq pointing out that the attitudes of the Iraqi government is towards achieving the reform in all economic sectors; and the importance of the aviation sector and its role in enhancing these efforts. Also, he has touched upon Iraq’s need to the support for the Organisation, especially the technical support and training the Iraqi employees, as well as, the importance of pointing Iraqis at the Organisation headquarters and its regional offices.
In return, Mr. Sciacchitano has welcomed the ambassador and its accompanying staff. He has clarified the importance of nominating a permanent representative for the republic of Iraq; especially Iraq is the first country in the Middle East region that joined the Organisation, as well as, Iraq’s strategic location connecting the east and west of the world. Mr. Sciacchitano has expressed the Organisation’s complete readiness to engage the Iraqi staff in the training programmes held by the Organisation. The meeting was ended by presenting souvenirs and the ambassador was accompanied by the general consul in Montreal (Dr. Agadeer Al Naqeeb) and first secretary (Dr. Ali Rasoul Al Masoudy).
