Ambassador of the Republic of Iraq in Ottawa Meets Mayor of Windsor, Mr Drew Delkins

The Ambassador of the Republic of Iraq in Ottawa Dr Wadea Betty, has met the Mayor of the city of Windsor, Mr Drew Delkins. During the meeting, the Ambassador has extended his thanks and appreciation for the support and attention given by the Mayor of Windsor to the Iraqi community residing in the city, expressing the embassy’s readiness to cooperate with the mayor’s office and the city’s administration in all areas in order to highlight the Iraqi cultural character in the city life as a confirmation of its diversity, especially as a large and important number of the Iraqi community resides in it, as well as to benefit from the community’s potential and capabilities through twinning programmes and cultural and economic cooperation by encouraging active Canadian companies in the city to enter the Iraqi market.

On his part, Mr. Drew Delickens, has expressed his warm welcome to the views and suggestions and his readiness to translate them into reality through cooperation with the embassy, ​​commending the active and important role played by the Iraqi community in the life of the city. He has appreciated the potential, capabilities and success achieved by the efforts of the members of Iraqi community and the good reputation they enjoy, emphasizing his high confidence that they could be an effective tool in developing relations between their city in their second country, Canada, and its counterparts from cities in their mother country, Iraq.

The official of the political section, first secretary, Dr Ali Rasoul Al-Masoudi, and the third secretary, Mohsen Ali Mohsen have attended this meeting.
