Ambassador of Iraq in Berlin Participates in the 24th Arab-German Economic Forum

The Ambassador of the Republic of Iraq in Berlin Luqman Abdul Rahim Al-Faili has participated in the twenty-fourth Arab-German Economic Forum held in Berlin, organised by the Arab-German Chamber of Commerce and Industry, with the participation of the German Minister of State for Economy and Energy Affairs Mr Andreas Fichte and a number of ministers, ambassadors, representatives of Arab diplomatic missions, businessmen and experts from the Arab World and Germany.

The Ambassador has pointed out the pivotal role that Iraq plays in the region for resources and potential it enjoys such us raw materials, energy, human resources, geographical location and international support. Iraq seeks to exploit this great potential despite the geopolitical challenges it faces, adding that the Iraqi government approved last year the “white paper”, which talks about Iraq’s upcoming economic vision, including investment, and giving special attention to the private sector, calling on German institutions and companies to enhance their role in rebuilding process in Iraq.

The three-day forum program discussed multiple aspects on the Arab-German relations, including: logistics and transport: transportation and communication in the Arab world, urban infrastructure and smart cities: reconstruction, sustainable development and modernization the economy, and digitization: the ability of the fourth industrial revolution to lead the diversification in the Arab Countries, conveyance of knowledge : the key to sustaining business and the success of digital transformation, the future of investment and finance in Arab-German Economic Relations in addition to a special session on the future of Arab-German economic relations.

It is worth noting that the Arab-German Forum represents a main platform for discussing opportunities to enhance Arab-German economic relations, in particular, the continuity of its holding for more than twenty years, in addition to the participation of numerous decision makers and high-level representatives of companies, and focusing on the Middle East, which represents a promising market for the German business and investments in all fields.
