Minister of Foreign Affairs Meets His Lebanese Counterpart in Belgrade. Agreement to Form Joint Committee to Study Possibilities of Visa Exemption between Two Countries

On Monday, 11/10/2021, the Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein Met with the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Emigrants of the Republic of Lebanon, Mr. Abdullah Bou Habib, on the sidelines of his participation in the meeting of the Non-Aligned Movement Group, and the celebration of the 60th anniversary of the holding of the first conference of the Movement currently taking place in Belgrade.

 During the meeting, the most significant security and political developments in the region were reviewed. The Lebanese Foreign Minister expressed his country’s government and people’s thanks for Iraq’s supportive stances for Lebanon in the face challenges, and the assistance provided by Iraq.

The Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein noted that providing assistance to sisterly Lebanon has been listed among the Iraq’s priorities, stressing Iraq’s readiness and commitment to continue providing support and assistance until Lebanon overcomes the challenges it is going through.

The two sides also discussed the importance of communication between the two brotherly peoples and working to exempt them from entry visa and agreed on the importance of forming a joint committee to study a draft convention of visa exemption for citizens of both countries and increase the volume of trade exchange between them.
