Ambassador of Iraq to Cairo meets Egyptian Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research

The Ambassador of Iraq to Cairo and its Permanent Representative to the League of Arab States, Dr. Ahmed Nayef Al-Dulaimi, met with the Egyptian Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Khaled Abdul Ghaffar, at his office to discuss aspects of cooperation between the two countries in the field of higher education.

Dr. Al-Dulaimi stressed that the Iraqi-Egyptian relations are historical, pointing to the need to strengthen relations with the brotherly Arab Republic of Egypt during the coming period, expressing his aspiration to increase the number Iraqi students studying in Egypt, and activating more aspects of cooperation in scientific research in addition to education, and the problems and obstacles of Iraqi students in Egyptian universities were also discussed.

For his part, Dr. Abdel Ghaffar stressed the need to consolidate the bonds of partnership between the two countries in the educational, cultural, scientific and research fields pointing to Egypt’s keenness to provide all fields of higher education, training and scholarships.

He also pointed out to the cooperation between Egyptian and Iraqi universities by exchanging visits of professors of both sides and student exchange, cooperation in joint educational programs, and conducting scientific projects in areas of common interest.

The two sides discussed the possibility of increasing the number of scholarships offered to Iraqi students to study in Egyptian universities at eh postgraduate level, “Master’s- Ph.D.” and the Ministry’s readiness to provide all every possible assistance to overcome the difficulties they face.
