Ambassador of Republic of Iraq in Abu Dhabi Meets UAE Minister of Climate Change and Environment

On Tuesday, August 24,2021, the Ambassador of the Republic of Iraq to the United Arab Emirates, Dr. Mudhaffar Mustafa Al-Jubouri, met the Minister of Climate Change and Environment, Dr. Abdullah Behlaif Al-Nuaimi, at the Ministry’s headquarters in Dubai. During the meeting, they discussed bilateral relations between the two brotherly countries in the environmental areas and controlling climate change,and how they are developed through activating previous agreements, and concluding a new comprehensive memorandum of understanding in line with the challenges facing the countries of the region and the world, and it includes the fields of agriculture, livestock, fisheries, fertilizers and pesticides, materials and waste of high risk, combating pollution and limiting the repercussions of climate change. They alsodiscussed the partnership in legislation, policies,programs and initiatives in the fields of environment.

The Ambassador expressed his gratitude to the Minister for the opportunity to meet him, expressing Iraq’s desire to strengthen the bonds of brotherly relations and open up wider horizons for joint action at all levels to serve the interests of the two countries.

For his part, the Minister of Climate Change and Environment praised the brotherly relations between the UAE and the Republic of Iraq and the efforts of the Ambassador in consolidating the strategic partnership between the two countries.

He stressed the readiness of the UAE Ministry of Climate Change and Environment to discuss the topics included in the memorandum of understanding under discussion with the Iraqi Ministry of Environment to reach consensus on them.
