Iraqi Ambassador in Cairo Meets Speaker of the Egyptian Parliament

Dr. Ahmed Naief Al Dulaimi, Ambassador and Permanent Representative of the Republic of Iraq to the League of Arab States met on Sunday, August 15, 2021, Counselor Dr. Hanafi Jabali, Speaker of the Egyptian House of Representatives.

During the meeting, the two sides discussed the Iraqi-Egyptian relations, and ways of enhancing them, especially at the parliamentary level.

Al Dulaimi stressed importance of the historical relations between the two brotherly countries, and the role of Egypt in the Arab nation as the indispensable big brother country, calling for benefiting from the Egyptian experiences in the reconstruction projects inIraq, whether through the work of Egyptian companies,or benefiting from the Egyptian experience in infrastructure projects.  

The Ambassador conveyed invitation from the Iraqi House of Representatives Speaker Muhammad Al Halbousi to Dr. Jabali, to visit Iraq at the earliest possible opportunity to discuss ways of strengtheningrelations between the two countries and discussing issues of common interest.

For his part, Chancellor Jabali welcomed the invitation of his Iraqi counterpart and promised to meet it as soon as possible, calling for a further acceleration of the Joint Iraqi-Egyptian Higher Committee work, to discuss ways of strengthening relations in various fields, especially the economy, increasing the rate of trade exchange and investment, activating legislative relations between the two countries, and establishingan Iraqi-Egyptian Parliamentary Friendship Committee, stressing that Egypt continuously supportIraq.
