Chargé d’Affairs at Embassy of Republic of Iraq to Berlin Meets Undersecretary of Ministry of Development and International Cooperation

The Chargé d’Affairs at the Embassy of the Republic of Iraq to Berlin, Ahmed Al-Saadi, met with Mr. Martin Jaeger, theUndersecretary of the Ministry of Development and International Cooperation and the candidate for the position of German Ambassador to Iraq.

The two sides discussed the developments of relationsbetween Iraq and Germany at all levels and reviewed the democratic process in the two countries in which parliamentary elections will be held simultaneously, stressingthe need for continued coordination and cooperation after the formation of the new government in both countries.

The two sides touched upon the work of the German Agency for International Development (GIZ), being Mr. Jaeger is in direct contact with this file.

They also discussed the opening of a German consulate in Basra Governorate, and an Iraqi consulate in Hannover in addition to the opening of a branch of Goethe- Cultural Institute in Baghdad.

At the end of the meeting, Mr. Ahmed Al-Saadi wished Mr. Martin Jaeger every success in his new mission in his second country, Iraq.
