Head of the Human Rights Department meets with the Charge d’Affairs of the Finnish Embassy in Baghdad

The head of the Human Rights Department, Dr. Ali Hilal met, on Sunday 27/6/2021, Mr. Kim Kyovalinen, Charge d’Affairs of the Finnish Embassy in Bagdhdad. During the meeting, bilateral coordination mechanisms and the most important issues related to human rights files and discussions within the work of the 47^th session of the Human Rights Council, were discussed.

During the meeting, the efforts of the Iraqi government in the field of promoting and protecting human rights were reviewed in accordance with the government program in cooperation with the Office of Human Rights Commissioner for Human Rights in Iraq based on the mandate entrusted to it, as well as working with treaty committees to implement the obligations of the Iraqi government in accordance with the provisions of human rights agreements to which Iraq is a party to.
