Iraqi Foreign Minister Calls for Establishment of Interfaith Dialogue Center in Iraq

On Monday, May 3, 2021, Foreign Minister, H.E. Mr. Fuad Hussein met with the head of the Islamic Department of the Pontifical Council for Interfaith Dialogue, Monsignor Khaled Akasheh.
During the meeting, they discussed bilateral relations and ways to develop them through constructive dialogue in a way that contributes to strengthening relations between Iraq and the State of the Vatican. They also touched on the historic visit of His Holiness to Iraq, noting that it was a message of love, tolerance and peace for the world.
H.E. called for the establishment of a center for interfaith dialogue in Iraq, to promote inclusive dialogue extending to all minorities in it.
The meeting was attended by Ms. Safia Al-Suhail, Iraqi Ambassador to Rome, and Mr. Abdul-Rahman Al-Amiri, Iraqi Ambassador to the Vatican City.
