Ambassador of Iraq to the United Arab Emirates Meets UAE’s Minister of State

On 15 April 2021, the Iraqi Ambassador to the United Arab Emirates, Dr. Mudhafar Al-Jbori met H.E. Khalifa Shaheen Almarar, Minister of State at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, at the Ministry’s headquarters in the capital Abu Dhabi.

At the outset of the meeting, Mr. Almarar welcomed the ambassador, praising the bilateral relations between the two countries and the development they are witnessing in all fields. Mr. Almarar affirmed his country’s keenness to strengthen its strategic relationship with the Republic of Iraq, and praised the fruitful visit of the Prime Minister, Mr. Mustafa Al-Kadhimi to the UAE, and reviewed with the Ambassador the positive results of the visit and its contribution to consolidating efforts and strengthening the relationship between the two countries. Both sides also talked about the importance of convening the tenth session of the joint Iraqi-Emirati committee and completing agreements and memoranda of understanding between them.

The ambassador emphasized that Iraq is keen to develop brotherly relations with the UAE, and to strengthen cooperation in a way that achieves the aspirations of the two peoples. They also reviewed the general situation in the region and exchanged views on regional and international issues of common interest.
