Underscretary for Political Planning Meets with Pakistan’s Foreign Minister in Islamabad

The Undersecretary for Political Planning, H.E. Dr. Saleh Al-Tamimi, met the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, H.E. Mr. Makhdoom Shah Mahmood Qureshi, during his official visit to Islamabad.
Mr. Al-Tamimi thanked the Pakistani side for sending medical aids to Iraq in March 2021 in response to the impacts of the Coronavirus, and he added that this brotherly gesture was well received by Iraq. He also welcomed Pakistan’s intention to strengthen relations with Iraq, stressing the importance of cooperation and joint coordination between the two countries in various relevant sectors, including religious tourism to visit the holy shrines by facilitating the granting of entry visas and cooperation in the military, educational and other fields, stressing the importance of strengthening friendly fraternal relations deeply rooted in the shared religion, values ​​and culture, and both countries cooperating closely in regional and multilateral forums.
For his part, Mr. Qureshi welcomed Mr. Al-Tamimi and the accompanying delegation, stressing the strong fraternal relations between the two countries, as he made clear that Pakistan gives priority to its bilateral relations with Iraq, and wishes to further strengthen and diversify these relations in all fields, expressing his hope that close cooperation between the two countries are in regional and multilateral forums in the coming years, stressing the importance of continuing high-level bilateral meetings, as they contribute to strengthening joint cooperation.
The two sides agreed during the meeting to intensify high-level meetings, work to develop frameworks in various fields of cooperation, and hold the ninth session of the joint ministerial committee as soon as possible.
