Iraqi Delegation Holds First Cultural Meeting with Delegation of Arab states of the Gulf Cooperation Council

On 1 April 2021, the Iraqi delegation held the first meeting in the cultural field with the delegation of the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf, in implementation of the inclusive cooperation strategy between the two sides. The Iraqi delegation was headed by Deputy head of Arab Department Minister Plenipotentiary Mr. Khalil Al-Shamari, representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in the Ministerial Committee no.(85) of 2018, with the participation of representatives from the General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers, the Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Antiquities, the Ministry of Youth and Sports.
The Gulf Delegation was headed by Ms. Aysha Youssef Al-Sada, head of awareness and cultural programs of the Bahrain Authority for Culture & Antiquities, and employees in charge of cultural and artistic affairs in the Cooperation Council.

During the meeting, the delegations reviewed the recent exchanged visits between officials of Iraq and the brotherly countries of the Cooperation Council, which enhance the principle of partnership and cooperation in all fields, as well as the final statement of the previous meetings of the Cooperation Council, which affirms building strong and strategic relations with Iraq.
The two sides also discussed many common cultural issues and future coordination of the joint cultural cooperation program, including supporting youth talents, increase their engagement in events, seminars, festivals, literature and scientific awards, and finding a mechanism to continue holding such events to maintain the dialogue of youth between the two sides.
