Ambassador Shoresh Khalid Saeed Presents a Copy of His Credentials as Ambassador of Iraq to the People’s Republic of China.

On 25 March 2021, H.E. Mr. Shoresh Khalid Saeed presented a copy of his credentials as the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Republic of Iraq to the People’s Republic of China, to H.E. Mr. Hong Li, the Head of the Protocol Department at the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
During the meeting, they exchanged views and discussed bilateral relations between the two countries, that are witnessing continuous progress.
Mr. Saeed congratulated the Chinese government on coming a long way in combating the corona virus last year, and stated that the bilateral relations had not witnessed any obstacles during the past period, and expressed the Iraqi government’s keenness to develop relations and activate the agreements signed with China.
For his part, Mr. Hong congratulated the ambassador on his appointment as the Iraqi ambassador to China, and expressed his readiness to provide support and facilitations for the success of his mission, and stated that the efforts of the Chinese government in combating the virus made the Chinese people feel the government’s ability to protect and achieve the welfare of the Chinese people, adding that the Chinese government supports Iraq in facing the difficulties and challenges. He also indicated that China provided assistance and sent experts during the past year to combat the Corona pandemic, and it recently provided a grant of (50,000) doses of vaccine when Iraq applied for the vaccine, and during the pandemic period, Chinese companies did not withdraw from Iraq, but rather continued to assist Iraq in reconstruction and development.
Mr. Hong expressed the Chinese government’s appreciation for the Iraqi government for its steadfast support of the interests of the Chinese government in terms of non-interference in China’s internal affairs.
