Meeting with Cardinal Louis Sacco, Minister of Foreign Affairs calls for spreading a culture of trust, love and brotherhood and eliminating the culture of hatred

Foreign Minister H.E. Mr. Fuad Hussein received Cardinal Sacco, Patriarch of the Chaldean community in Iraq.
At the outset of the meeting, Cardinal Sacco expressed his deep thanks and appreciation to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for its efforts in making the visit of His Holiness, Pope Francis to Iraq a success, as well as the tireless governmental effort that contributed to it, pointing out the importance of the visit to all Iraqis who showed a warm welcome to His Holiness from Muslims, Christians and the rest of the sects in Iraq.
For his part, Mr. Hussein praised the efforts of the Church and its role in preparing for the visit, pointing out that the visit of H.H. Pope Francis represented a deep human message of solidarity, stressing the need to mobilize all efforts to confront discrimination and extremism, calling for the importance of spreading a culture of trust, love, brotherhood and the eliminating of the culture of hatred, in addition to expressing his pride in the distinguished national role that Iraqi Christians play, emphasizing that the coexistence between different religions and sects is one of the distinguishing features of the Iraqi people presented to all nations and peoples of the world, noting that everyone contributes today in managing the democratic political experience.
