Invited by Minister of Foreign Affairs, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Qatar Visits Baghdad

On Wednesday 24 March 2021, Foreign Minister H.E. Mr. Fuad Hussein received Qatari Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, H.E. Sheikh Muhammad bin Abdul Rahman Al Thani at Baghdad International Airport.
This official visit comes in response to the invitation extended by Minister Hussein to his Qatari counterpart during his recent visit to Doha.
During the meeting, they discussed bilateral relations between the two countries, and ways to advance them in the interest of the two brotherly peoples, in addition to the activation of the Iraqi-Qatari joint committee to further enhance the sectors of investment, development and cooperation.
Both sides also discussed the developments of political and security situations in the region, and exchanged viewpoints on effective solutions to the region’s crises in a way that reflects Iraq’s regaining its proactive role within a balanced foreign policy that supports it.
Mr. Al Thani also met with H.E. Mr. Barham Salih, President of Iraq and the Prime Minister, H.E. Mr. Mustafa Al-Kaduimi, and these meetings focused on strengthening cooperation and emphasizing common views at the regional and international levels.
