Chargé D’Affairs of the Embassy of the Republic of Iraq in Muscat Meets the Undersecretary of the Omani Ministry of Foreign Affairs

The Chargé D’Affairs of the Embassy of the Republic of Iraq in Muscat, Dr. Muhammad Issa al-Issawi, met Sheikh Khalifa bin Ali al-Harithi, Undersecretary of the Omani Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
During the meeting, both sides discussed the Iraqi-Omani relations and ways to develop and enhance them to serve the interests of the two brotherly countries. They also discussed various bilateral cooperation fields including ways of increasing the number of scholarships for Iraqi students studying in the Sultanate, exempting Iraqi citizens from entry visa, opening a direct flight route between Iraq and the Sultanate, encouraging Omani investors to invest in Iraq, activating memoranda of understanding signed between the two sides by convening meetings of the Iraqi-Omani joint committee, and increasing the number of professions that Iraqis are allowed to work in the Sultanate, in addition to exempting Iraqis who have expired residency permits and who have not renewed their passports while staying in the Sultanate.
The meeting was attended by Ambassador Mahmoud Al Hinai, Head of the Arab Mashreq Department, and Counselor Saeed Al Mahri, who is responsible for the Iraq Desk at the Omani Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Ms. Azhar Muhammad Abbas, third secretary, in charge of the political affairs at the embassy, ​​also attended the meeting.
