Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein Meets with Secretary-General of Organisation of Islamic Cooperation Mr. Yusuf bin Uthaimin and Stresses Importance of Intellectual Fight on Extremism Ideology

Foreign Minister Mr. Fuad Hussein met with the Secretary-General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, during a visit to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia upon the invitation of his counterpart Prince Faisal bin Farhan.

During the meeting, they discussed the seriousness of extremism and the importance of realistically confronting its ideology through programs and steps that reflect the cooperation of the states parties to the organization.
Minister Fuad Hussein explained to his guest that Iraq is still continuing its efforts to confront terrorism and its groups, and that it continues to be devoted to a balanced foreign policy that achieves the interests of Iraq.

The Secretary-General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation renewed the support of all the states party of the organisation to the government and people of Iraq in confronting terrorism and taking various means to support it through the branches of the OIC General Secretariat, and in various fields and confirmed that the security, sovereignty and territorial integrity of Iraq is an important condition , stating the importance of respecting the sovereignty of states and not interfering in their affairs, as the approach taken by the Iraqi government.

The Secretary-General of the Organization stated that we are happy with the rapprochement taken by the government of Iraq and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, which will positively reflect on the interests of the two brotherly peoples.
On his part, the Minister extended an invitation to the Secretary-General of the Organization, Mr. Yusef bin Uthaimin, to visit Iraq and discuss cooperation ties at all levels within the framework of the organization.
