The Embassy of Republic of Iraq in London is Following the Situation of Iraqi Community during the Crisis of Coronavirus Pandemic
In accordance with the directives of the Crisis Cell at the Foreign Ministry and under the direct supervision of Ambassador Mr. Mohammed Jaafar Al-Sadr, the Embassy of the Republic of Iraq in the United Kingdom is following the repercussions of the crisis of the outbreak of the Coronavirus Pandemic on the Iraqi community as well as citizens stranded in UK (students, scholars, visitors for treatment or tourism, participants In training courses or scientific conferences) for the purpose of identifying their needs and guiding them with the health procedures followed in the United Kingdom and how to reach health institutions and call emergency numbers, the embassy has allocated direct lines 24 hours a day to answering citizens ’inquiries, and providing assistance in the event of an emergency.
The embassy also received hundreds of calls from stranded citizens appealing to the embassy to evacuate them. The embassy moved in coordination with the crisis cell in the Ministry in preparation for evacuating them to Iraq as soon as possible.
The embassy followed up the issue of the death of an Iraqi citizen as a result of Coronavirus with the hospital administration and his family for the purpose of facilitating the process of receiving the body and burial and issuing a death certificate to him.
The embassy is also communicating with several Iraqi citizens who are infected with the Coronavirus , in order to determine their needs and provide them with possible assistance.
