Ambassador of Republic of Iraq to The Holy See Receives President of World Union for Catholic Women’s Organizations

 Dr. María Lía Zervino.

At the beginning of the meeting, the President of the World Union spoke about her meeting with Pope (Francis) in January of this year, and his request for her to meet with the Ambassador of the Republic of Iraq to The Holy See to discuss cooperation and work in the field of promoting dialogue and empowering women.

On her part the Ambassador expressed her readiness to communicate and cooperate with the Union, and praised the Pope’s position in supporting the government and people of Iraq, and stressed the importance of dialogue, and the enhancement of the role of women, and the need to support and empower them because of their fundamental and important role in society.
