Iraq Participates in Meetings of 43rd Session of IFAD Governing Council

The Ambassador of the Republic of Iraq to Italy, Mrs. Safia Talib Al-Suhail headed the Iraqi delegation in the 43rd Governing Council of the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) of the United Nations.

The work of the 43rd session began on Tuesday, 11 February 2020 titled: “Investing in sustainable food systems to end hunger by 2030”.

The session was held for two days at the headquarters of the FAW in Rome, with the presence of 177 member states of the organization.

The meeting will also discuss rural development as a means to resolve conflicts, promote peace, and build the resilience of small business owners in the face of climate shocks in addition to disability, food security, and rural development.
